Immense humanitarian needs in Gaza must be addressed

After two years of conflict, the humanitarian situation in Gaza remains catastrophic. People need life-saving supplies now. The flow of aid into Gaza must be stepped up. More than anything, people need the ceasefire to hold, and a chance to heal.

Now is the time to act. Your donation could help us get food, medicine and other essentials to families in desperate need, as winter approaches.

Why your donation matters

After two years of conflict people are hungry, displaced and without access to healthcare. There has been some improvement following the ceasefire agreement of October 2025, but it falls short of the scale of humanitarian need, with the entire population of Gaza still facing acute food insecurity.

  • At least 69,795 people have tragically died.
  • More than 1.4 million people face extreme hunger.
  • Over 175,500 have been injured.
  • Only 18 out of 36 hospitals in Gaza are functioning, with limited capacity.
  • 90% of Gaza’s 2.1million population has been displaced.

A massive scale-up of humanitarian aid is urgently needed. People must have a sustained and unimpeded flow of life-saving supplies to survive and rebuild.

Your donations help us reach people in urgent need. You will be supporting the life-saving emergency response work of the Home Safe Haven in Gaza.

Conflict in Gaza has devastated lives. Ceasefire has now been confirmed, but the humanitarian needs remain immense.

Violence has displaced nearly two million people, decimated livelihoods, crippled food systems, destroyed crop fields, severely restricted humanitarian operations and resulted in the collapse of health services and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) systems.

In Gaza, people are dying of hunger and disease, as well as injuries caused by the conflict.  Food and clean water are desperately scarce with tens of thousands of children requiring treatment for acute malnutrition. There are reports of people dying from starvation every day.

The hostilities in Gaza are reported to have caused 67,183 deaths, injured 169,841 people and displaced about two million people (almost the entire population of Gaza).

It is critical that, together with other  member charities, we scale up our emergency response to support those in urgent need of help.

Although the ceasefire will halt hostilities, civilians continue to face impossible choices when trying to secure their own survival.

A huge humanitarian disaster is happening in Gaza right now. Over two million people live in this very crowded place. They are suffering terribly from constant bombing and violence destroying their city.

We cannot ignore the horrible hardship our fellow humans are facing. Innocent lives are at risk of being lost. We need to act quickly to help those struggling to survive in Gaza.

The Crisis in Gaza

The relentless bombardment and violence of the ongoing war have inflicted profound suffering on the people of Gaza:

High Casualty Rates:

The conflict has resulted in the deaths of over 32,600 civilians, with thousands more injured and maimed. Families are being torn apart, and communities are left reeling from the staggering loss of life.

Mass Displacement:

Over 1.7 million people, representing three-quarters of Gaza’s total population, have been forced to flee their homes in search of safety. The scale of displacement is unprecedented, leaving families without shelter, food, or basic necessities.

Starvation and Food Insecurity:

The blockade imposed by Israel has severely restricted access to essential resources such as food, water, and medical supplies. Shockingly, over 90% of Gaza’s population is facing crisis levels of food insecurity, with more than 1.1 million people on the brink of starvation.

Destruction of Infrastructure:

Critical infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, and water and sanitation facilities, has been mercilessly targeted and destroyed. The war has left entire communities without access to essential services, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.

Collapsing Healthcare System:

The healthcare system in Gaza is on the brink of collapse. With only 14 out of 36 hospitals functioning, medical facilities are overwhelmed and under-equipped. Urgent support is needed to ensure that hospitals have the resources they need to provide lifesaving treatment to the injured and sick.

Psychological Trauma:

The relentless violence and instability have taken a toll on the mental health and well-being of the population. More than half of Gaza’s population is experiencing trauma and loss, with limited resources available for support and counseling.
